Everyone coming to therapy may have different expectations, fears and hopes. Because of this I would like to clarify what you could expect from person-centred therapy and counselling.
The person-centred approach is based on the belief that you have within you the potential to discover your own way of moving forward to a more fulfilling and healthy way of living.
This approach places great emphasis on creating a trusting relationship where you can explore your feelings and what lies behind these feelings, without judgement or intrusion from me.
New insights
I will assist you and be your guide in this process. I will try to help you make sense of the situation and for you to understand your thoughts and feelings.
As a result of this type of counselling relationship you will experience new insights about yourself and/or your situation. These new insights can help you bring about change, if that is what you choose to do.
